Welcome to the Planning Section of Carrick on Suir Town Council

The aim of the Planning Function of Carrick on Suir Town Council is,within the framework of national policies, to contribute and support measures at local and regional level to secure attainment of economic growth, an acceptable standard of living and a satisfactory physical environment for living and working.  The Town Council activities in housing, roads, water supply and other services areas contribute to the above aim.

This Programme contributes by:

    The development of an overall physical planning policy for:

  •    The control of building and new development by other public authorities or by the private sector.
  •    The undertaking of schemes of commercial development.
  •     Services and incentives designed to secure development of the local economy.
  •   The provision of advisory/consultation services on an ongoing basis to prospective planning applicants.

The primary functions of Carrick on Suir Town Council Planning Department are to process planning applications received within the eight week statutory period, as set out under the Planning and Development Act, 2000 and Planning and Development Regulations 2001 and to prepare and adopt a Development Plan for the Town and review it within the statutory period, as set out under the Planning and Development Act, 2000.
