Carrick on Suir Town Council continues to protect and improve the living and working environment of the town of Carrick on Suir and to ensure that the activities of the Town Council are carried out in an environmentally friendly manner. Our aim is to eliminate litter, promote recycling, participate in effective waste management issues and enforce pollution control.
Carrick on Suir town Council strives to to ensure environmental protection conditions conducive to health and amenity and to protect persons and property from fire and other hazards including dangerous buildings and places. The achievement of these aims involves providing services to secure:
• The protection of the environment including arranging for waste disposal and pollution control.
• Provision of burial facilities.
• The safety of individuals and places including work in connection with dangerous buildings and places.
The Council contributes to these aims through :
• Waste Disposal facilities.
• Street Cleaning facilities.
• Litter Control.
• Maintenance of Cemetery.
• Maintenace of Derelict Sites Register.
• Introduction of annual white goods collection.
• Introduction of Bonfire Strategy.
• Adoption of Litter Management Plan.
• Removal of graffiti from various locations.
• Contributing to South Tipperary County Council’s Fire Brigade Service.
• Contributing to South Tipperary County Council’s Civil Defence activities.
• Implementation of the annual Landscape Plan for the town.
